Introduction

INTRODUCTION

The Directorate General of Climate Change (DoCC) established under the Environment, Climate Change & Coastal Development Department (ECC&CDD) Government of Sindh. The Climate Change Directorate prepared the first ever “Sindh Climate Change Policy-2022”. The Government of Sindh has notified the policy on 07^th July 2022.

• The Directorate General of Climate Change established in 2022 in view of impacts of Climate Change in Sindh. Started operations in March 2022.
• Acts as an interface with Federal Government and international entities, and as a coordination body with key departments at the provincial level for climate related compliance.
• Works in close coordination with Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination, Islamabad, and with National and International working partners.
• DoCC will enable Government of Sindh to achieve SDGs, Nationally Determined Contributions NDCs, Carbon Market by Policy initiatives.
• Sindh Climate Change Policy notified by the Government of Sindh on 7^th July 2022 which is available on official website.
