Environment, Climate Change & Coastal Development Department (ECC&CDD) established in 2016 by the Government of Sindh after the 18th Constitutional Amendment. This department has three sections i.e., Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA), Directorate of Climate Change (DoCC) & Sindh Coastal Development Authority (SCDA).

Consequently, the Government of Sindh decided to establish the Directorate of Climate Change (DoCC) in the year 2019-20. The Directorate of Climate Change established under Environment, Climate Change & Coastal Development Department Government of Sindh. The Climate Change Directorate has worked out the first ever “Sindh Climate Change Policy-2022”. The Policy approved by the Sindh Cabinet on 07th July 2022.

  • Acts as an interface with Federal Government and international entities
  • Works in close coordination with Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination.
  • Introducing policy initiatives to enable GoS achieve SDGs, Nationally Determined Contributions NDCs (of carbon emission)
