Karachi: Review of implementation strategy for the ban on plastic shopping bags, effective from June 15 across Sindh.
Karachi: Formation of a special committee comprising all regional directors under the leadership of DG SEPA, Mr. Waqar Hussain Phulpoto.
Karachi: Directions issued to write letters to the Secretary Home and Divisional Commissioners to ensure coordinated action at the district level.
Karachi: Review of ongoing schemes and projects under the Annual Development Program (ADP) during the meeting.
Karachi: Discussion on restructuring of the Directorate of Climate Change and appointment of a consultant.
Karachi: Review of sectoral working groups on climate change and associated annual development schemes at the provincial level.
Karachi: Secretary Agha Shahnawaz proposed the establishment of a "Sustainable Development Board" for effective fund utilization.
Karachi: Secretary instructed all officers to remain active in the field to ensure clear and effective outcomes.
Karachi: Secretary warned of strict action in case of any negligence or carelessness.
Karachi: "Plastic bags are a major cause of environmental degradation. The ban will be enforced strictly at all costs," stated Secretary Agha Shahnawaz.
Karachi: "Cooperation from district and provincial institutions is ongoing. Violators will face strict action," added Secretary Agha Shahnawaz.
